This month we’re celebrating Transition Town Reading, a thriving group that’s been taking action and forging incredible partnerships throughout the town since 2009. Over the past the past 3 years the group has seen multiple spin-out projects flourishing, including a Repair Cafe, a Library of Things, and the Reading Community Energy Society. They have also built some great partnerships with the local council and University of Reading, helping to establish the incredible Reading Hydro, a microhydro electricity generating station that powers the local lido.
With over 1,000 attendees at TTR events in the past year, the group has
recently commissioned
a new film to highlight their successes and inspire further action.
The film will be screened at their local independent cinema - and we look
forward to watching it too!
Reading Hydro was featured as part of the Running Out of Time relay, linking COP26 to COP27.
